Portland Power Quartetting weekend

If you are a person who's driven to excellence and an above-average quartet singer, this might be the event for you. Participants will be expected to memorize (completely) their part in six challenging arrangements and come prepared to sing their part in quartets.

These songs will be sung in various quartets throughout the weekend and in an informal contest/show on Saturday evening. Individuals will be randomly drawn into quartets and a random song assigned for the contest. The entire group will also perform the six songs as a chorus in the show.

For those Portland-area quartetters who want some extra practice singing with real people before the event, there will be "preview" sessions at the event venue at 6-7 pm on March 2, April 6, and May 4. These are totally optional, and there's no guarantee that all parts will be represented, or even that any will. Click here for a more detailed map to the venue.

Directions to the venue: Take exit marked Lloyd Center or Rose Quarter. Go east on Weidler to 21st. Turn left on 21st and proceed about 3 blocks to the end of the street. The venue, Holladay Park Church of God, is on the right. Turn right on Tillamook and right again into the parking lot. Walk down the stairs into the lower entrance and down the hall to the assembly room. The address is 2120 NE Tillamook St. Portland.

We will contact you to arrange housing if you desire. As the event grows closer, you will be emailed information regarding warm-up sessions (optional), directions, and food and lodging in the area.
